Child Care Professional/Babysitter

 

Position: Child Care Professional / Baby Sitter (Multiple positions)

Reports to: School Principal

Position description:
The Child Care Professional will provide services at ILM Academy to infants and children up to age 3 between the hours of 8:00am to 3:30pm. The Child Care Professional will create an educational environment along with baby sitting services where children are granted the opportunity to fulfill their potential of becoming knowledgeable and productive Muslims. The Child Care Professional may also be considered as an option for substitute services for ILM Tots, Pre-K1 and Pre-K2.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Creates and implements educational activities that contribute to a climate where children are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.
• Come up with a baby sitting program that is up to ILM Academy’s standards of education and excellence.
• Ensures the safety of the kids while providing them with a care-giving and nurturing atmosphere.
• Organizes baby sitting room’s layout and set up.
• Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing, with parents, and staff on a regular basis in order to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
• Supports students and parents with alternate strategies and provides additional assistance with daily assignments and projects.
• Models spiritual maturity in leading students towards Islam and spiritual growth.
• Inculcates the kids with a sense of respect, order and self-discipline while encouraging them to be innovative and curious.
• Meets professional obligations through efficient work habits such as meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating with others, etc.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Administrator.


Required Qualifications:
• One to two years of baby sitting experience
• A willingness to share and portray Islamic mannerisms and way of living including modest Islamic dress code
• Must possess ability to use a computer for communication purposes with parents and staff
• Possesses knowledge of the English Language
• Knowledge of the Arabic Language (Fussha) a plus
• Possesses strong oral and written communication skills
• Works independently with little direct supervision
• Accepts responsibility and is self-motivated.
• Knowledge of Early Childhood Education a plus
• Demonstrates strong work ethic in order to achieve team and individual goals
• Displays effective multi-tasking and time management skills
• CPR and First Aid Training a plus

Salary:

Paid Hourly. The rate depends on qualifications.
