Curriculum

Philosophy
In Pre K1, we use the Creative Curriculum whose philosophy is that children learn best by doing. Our goal is to help children become independent, self-confident, inquisitive and enthusiastic learners by actively exploring their environment. The Creative Curriculum identifies goals in all areas of development: Social, Emotional, Cognitive, Physical and Language. The well designed activities, careful organization of environment, selection of materials and interaction with the children are all designed to meet the goals and objectives as laid out in the curriculum.

The Teacher’s Role
The teacher’s role is to create an environment that invites children to observe, be active, make choices, experiment and learn. The curriculum is designed in such a way that the teacher integrates learning in literacy, math, science and arts. The teacher is constantly engaged in observing, guiding and assessing each child’s progress, interacting with each child continuously and making decisions about when and how to respond in order to meet individual and group needs.

Environment
The physical environment in the class has a profound effect on the children.  The classes have been setup taking into account various elements, such as size of the room, color of the walls, flooring, lighting, number of windows and positioning of learning centers stimulating learning in the children.
